Compusult Receives Business Award for Independent Living

St. John's, NL- Compusult was awarded top honours among the business community from the Independent Living Resource Centre (ILRC). The Business Award for Independent Living was presented to Compusult on December 3, 2010, on the International Day of Persons with Disabilities.

The ILRC was a full house on December 3, with members of government, business representatives, and ILRC staff and volunteers all commemorating the International Day of Persons with Disabilities and the awards presentation to follow. Barry Galloway, Executive Director of the ILRC, welcomed everyone as the event marked an uplifting occasion celebrating the dedication of individuals in the movement towards equality.

The Business Award is presented to an individual or company that has displayed an innovative approach in supporting the full inclusion of persons with disabilities in areas such as employment, communication and technology. "We are very honoured to receive this award today. We are also proud to be part of, and work with, such an important organization such as the ILRC", said Paul Mitten, Vice-President of Compusult.

This is the second year for the Annual Independent Living Awards, recognizing commitments made by individuals, government and business in promoting full inclusion of persons with disabilities.
