Common Operating Picture for the 21st Century (COP 21)

Description:

The objective of this contract is to design and develop a Situation Awareness Portal and a series of services that will provide commanders at the strategic level the degree of situation awareness required to take timely and judicious decisions. This portal will provide access to a variety of sources of information and will exploit a number of leading-edge technologies, including information and knowledge management, collaborative teamwork, battlespace visualization, geospatial information exploitation, decision support and multi-source integration architectures.

Compusult Limited is part of team lead by xwave. The xwave Team is comprised of the following companies:

  • Xwave Solutions Incorporated (xwave);

  • Thales Systems Canada (Thales);

  • BEA Systems Incorporated (BEA); and,

  • Compusult Limited (Compusult)

Compusult’s primary responsibilities are to: assist in the generation of System Requirement Specifications; assist in the generation of a System Design, System Architecture, and over all services integration specifications; interface and integrate defence-related legacy systems as required and integrate and implement geospatial portal and integration services for the entire COP 21 portal.

This project demonstrates Compusult’s abilities and knowledge in delivering large scale system architectures requiring integration into commercial and legacy applications, conducting system specifications and design and designing and delivering spatial solutions in defence-related environments. COP 21 will use Compusult’s Web Enterprise Suite as the commercial GIS solution for the Coalition Portal for Imagery and Geospatial Services (CPIGS). The GIS solution has been implemented using open standards from the Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC). However, map server functionality was implemented using ESRI’s Map Objects and portal mapping communications can be performed using either open standards from OGC or ESRI’s ArcXML/ArcIMS protocol for connectivity to ArcIMS servers and/or Geography Network.
