Access Manager

Access Manager is used for receiving, archiving, cataloging, maintaining and disseminating data holdings over intranets and wide area networks such as the Internet.

Overview

The Web Enterprise Suite data warehouse component, Access Manager, is especially suited to the needs of organizations for receiving, archiving, cataloging, maintaining and disseminating data holdings over intranets and wide area networks such as the Internet. The application is composed of a set of tightly integrated modules that provide organizations with the ability to catalogue and organize data and data product holdings, and provides users with the ability to access, analyze, organize and share/distribute information and content.

Access Manager contains the following options:

• Site configuration and management for the portal and SOA environment.
• Classification information categories and coding.
• Collection management and configuration.
• OGC map access and configuration.
• Service health checker monitoring and notification.
• Admiralty Total Tides integration and analysis.
• Broadcast notifications and announcements.
• System level logging and monitoring.
• User profile access and management.
• Configuration of data discovery and metadata catalogue data access.
• Data source (Legacy/Heritage) systems connections.
• Flat file ingestion for loading data and databases into the system.
• WES reporting including auditing, catalogue, usage statistics, harvest status, etc.

Access Manager is a component of Compusult’s Web Enterprise Suite; a set of Internet-based applications and toolkits that support Web mapping, information cataloging, discovery, retrieval and delivery services.

Access Manager is also a contributor to the Open Geospatial Consortium Catalogue Services Interoperability initiative.

Geospatial Feature Metabase (GFM)

The Geospatial Feature Metabase is a proven solution for rapid data warehouse implementation, providing advanced data acquisition, archival, cataloging and dissemination capabilities.

Overview

The Web Enterprise Suite XI data warehouse management component GFM is specifically designed for receiving, archiving, cataloging, maintaining and disseminating data holdings over intranets and wide area networks.

GFM provides the following:

• A data warehouse, built on common RDBMSs for UNIX and Windows environments, which accepts data from legacy systems and existing databases in real time or batch-loading. Data can be re-mapped, quality controlled, converted, cataloged, archived (on-line or off-line) and/or disseminated elsewhere in various formats, as required.
• GFM may be implemented using either Oracle Spatial or Oracle Locator and is an end-to-end Web Feature Service (Transactional) (WFS-T) server.
• A browser interface to allow users to view samples, images and metadata associated with search results, to determine the appropriateness of the results.
• ODBC-compliant transactional database tools permit population of the database via data loading and transfer from existing databases and other data sources (real-time, on-line or off-line).
• Full functionality for implementing and administering data input, storage, output and integrity.
• On-line ordering and delivery of data.
• Ordering information for datasets that are cataloged, but not held, by GFM.
• Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) for modifying and generating custom user interfaces in WWW environments.
